In every storybook, cartoon, anime, TV show, or movie there is always a good guy and a bad guy. In comic books, the good and evil side of things goes even further when your super hero has one bad guy that keeps showing up. For Spiderman it’s the Green Goblin, Batman has the Joker, Superman has to deal with Lex Luther, even Wolverine has an Arch Enemy in Sabertooth, but did you know an online marketing firm also have an archenemy and that is Google.
Google is the archenemy to any online marketing firm and SEO department, no matter what company you’re taking about. The reason why Google is making life harder for SEO workers, and what got them archenemy status, is because of their new search engines use automated software programs, also known as spiders. Check out this link for examples.
Now, spiders, or crawlers, are programs whose job is to store the information in different articles and catch link pattern, so that a company can get more traffic and rank higher on Google pages, in them and basically stop them. The reason why Google wants to stop these patterns is because they want companies to rank higher on Google pages organically and not because of search engine optimization.
The new spiders are supposed to be more powerful than the old ones and are supposedly more efficient. Now there is a little bit of controversy about why Google created these new spiders. The first is that Google uses the new spider to spot web sites that use cloaking, JavaScript redirects, and other dubious web site optimization techniques. The Second reason is Google’s extensive crawling might be a panic reaction because the index needs to be rebuilt from the ground up in a short time period. This may have been a result of spamming.
However, no matter the reason why these new spiders have come into being it is making SEO worker working twice as hard to try and to keep a step head of these spiders. Making them not only SEO workers archenemy but also online marketing firm’s.
